BppSuite is a suite of ready-to-use programs for phylogenetic and sequence analysis.

Download

  • If you got the current version of Bio++ (ie with git), the current version of BppSuite is available through subversion here.
  • If you got an archived or pre-compiled version of Bio++, the archived version of BppSuite is here.

Installation

  • <source lang="bash">cd</source> to the source directory,
  • build the Makefile with cmake

<source lang="bash"> cmake . </source>

The binaries will be installed in /usr/local/bin, a location which requires superuser access rights. An alternative option consists in installing in the user home, for example in a subdirectory called bin. The CMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX variable specifies where the bin directory should be installed.

<source lang="bash"> cmake . -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=$HOME </source>

In addition, if the Bio++ libraries are in a non standard location (such as ~/.local), use the following option:

<source lang="bash"> cmake . -DCMAKE_PREFIX_PATH=$HOME/.local -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=$HOME </source>

  • Build the library: <source lang="bash">make</source>
  • Then install it: <source lang="bash">make install</source>
  • You can also generate the pdf documentation by typing <source lang="bash">make pdf</source>

Examples

Many examples are available in the subdirectory of Examples.
