Bio++ version 1.8

Bio++ Version 1.8 is out. As usual, this version brings several bug fixes and new features. It is however the first release of a series of transitional versions toward 2.0. As is, it hence introduces several interface breaks, so that it is expected that existing code fails to compile against this new version. Here are the details of major changes for each libraries, as usual, check the changelogs in each packages for a detailed list:

  • Bpp-Utils 1.4.0 contains new parser functions for the 'keyval' syntax.
  • Bpp-NumCalc 1.7.0 has its Parameter interfaces changed, in order to support parameter namespaces and aliases. It also contains new Matrix and Vector tools.
  • Bpp-Seq 1.6.0 contains a new WordAlphabet class, for easier development of general models, for instance dealing with codons. There is also a new Nexus parser.
  • Bpp-Phyl 1.8.0 has several bugs fixed and model improvements. The syntax for models description in option files has been completely reworked, see the manual of the Bio++ Program Suite for details. Nexus format for trees was added.
  • Bpp-PopGen 1.4.0 has several bug fixed and code improvements.

See you on the Bio++ forums for further discussions!
